TORRES DE SERRANO

One of the best examples of military architecture from the 15th Century. It was the principle gate to the city in the walls which previously surrounded Valencia, a toll was paid every time people passed through, entering or leaving the city. VALÈNCIA CATHEDRAL

One of the most monumental in Spain, it stands in the  Plaza de la Reina and attracts pilgrims from all over the world

Did you know the Cathedral had a sun dial? It is on the right of the Puerta de los Apóstoles. You can see the vertical hand and the lines which used to indicate the hours. The cathedral is a must-see for anyone who comes to Valencia.

THE PLAZA REDONDA

The Plaza Redonda stands out because of its shape which gives its name and the commercial stalls and shops around it.

This strange architectural work by Salvador Escrig Melchor dates back to the 19th Century, conceived from the point of view of the merchant, with its circular form closing the area off. Known locally as “el clot” (the hole), its ground floor is filled with shops and market stalls selling all kinds of wares.

FALLAS MUSEUM

Las Fallas is the great Valencian popular festival par excellence with figures created by professional Fallas artists. This museum houses a collection of “ninots indultados” (the Fallas figures which each year are chosen to escape burning) and the decorative Fallas posters which appear every year announcing the festivities.

THE EXHIBITION PALACE

This modernist public building was built as the municipal headquarters of the Regional and National Exhibitions  of 1909 and 1910. Nowadays it is used to host events and public receptions.
